The front of the pillow is beautifully appliquéd with an apple tree sewn from a selection of cotton fabrics, appliquéd leaves and apples made of homemade buttons. The birdie has a felt beak and legs and hand-embroidered eyes; her fabric wings are slightly raised and attached with a button. The reverse side has an appliquéd apple and a wooden button to close the cover.
